Iran’s mission to the United Nations has called for a meeting of the Permanent Council, saying that Israel’s attack on Iran is an attack on world peace and stability as well as a violation of international law.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi sent a letter to the 15-member Permanent Council of the United Nations on Saturday. In view of that letter, the meeting of the permanent council is being held on Monday.

On October 1, Iran launched missile attacks on Israeli military bases, air force bases and the Mossad compound in retaliation for the killing of the country’s senior commander and Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh while in Tehran.
In response to this, Israel attacked Iran on October 25 and 26.

Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, denied the charges brought by Iran and said in a statement on Sunday, “Iran has made false accusations against us in a very subtle way.”

He said Israel has not violated international law. We reserve our right to defend ourselves. We will do everything to protect our citizens.
