At the end of last month, strong typhoon ‘Krathon’ raged in Taiwan. This time, the new super typhoon Kong-re is approaching this region. The typhoon is approaching at a speed of 300 km.

This information was reported in a CNN report on Wednesday (October 30) in the US media.

According to the report, Kong-ray is now moving towards Taiwan at a speed of 300 km. As a result, the entire island can be destroyed. Earlier it hit the Philippines. After that, it took shape in a spectacular form.

The US Navy’s Joint Typhoon Warning Center said it was moving at speeds of about 300 km/h. It has already become a super typhoon and is expected to intensify before hitting Taitung County.

It is currently moving northwest over the Philippine Sea, the Joint Typhoon Warning Center (JTWC) said. It became a super typhoon on Wednesday.

Earlier, TWC said that it currently has a speed of 240 kmph. It has now become a Category-4 cyclone. It is expected to make landfall in the sparsely populated Taitung County on Taiwan’s southeast coast on Thursday morning.

Chu Sei Lin, official of the Taiwan Meteorological Department, said that as the typhoon moves towards the northwest, the storm may start raging in the whole of Taiwan by the end of the night. The Central Meteorological Administration (CWA) has issued the warning as the storm approaches on Tuesday. As of Wednesday afternoon, more than 50 percent of the island’s counties were on alert.

According to the weather forecast, it will make landfall directly on the South East coast. Then it can be a little weak. However, its impact carries the risk of heavy rains, floods and landslides.

An official of the country’s Meteorological Department said that when the typhoon hits, there may be waves of 8 meters high.

Taiwanese authorities have warned residents on the east coast to stay safe and make adequate preparations. Besides, heavy rain is predicted in various places especially in Taipei on Thursday.

Taiwan’s Ministry of Defense said that the military has prepared 36,000 troops to assist in rescue and relief work.

It should be noted that typhoons are mainly cyclones formed in the western part of the Pacific Ocean. Due to its effect, China, Taiwan, Philippines and Japan suffer a lot of damage every year.
