Three people were reported killed in Thakurgaon due to lightning. At this time, 9 women and children were injured. Livestock died. Electricity meters were damaged in several places due to lightning.

The incident took place in Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila and Baliadangi Upazila when it started raining after intense heat on Tuesday (September 24) afternoon.

The deceased are Ariful Islam (17) son of Dulal Uddin of Lauthuti village of Shukanpukuri union of Sadar upazila, Munir Islam (28) son of Nazrul Islam and Ataur Rahman (23) son of Mojibur Rahman of Kalibari village of Amjankhor union of Baliadangi upazila.

The injured are 7-year-old child Ruman of Amjankhor Union, 13-year-old Kishore Rana, 10-year-old child Sakibul, 8-year-old child Faisal of Fultala village, Manjura Begum, wife of Ashraful Islam of Udaipur village. All of them are admitted in Baliadangi Upazila Health Complex.

In addition, the identity of the injured in Sadar Upazila is yet to be found.

Resident Medical Officer (RMO) of Thakurgaon Modern Sadar Hospital Dr. Rakibul Alam Chayan said that those injured and killed by lightning were brought to the hospital. The bodies of three of them have been handed over to their families. The injured are being treated.
