35 dead, 43 injured in car crash in China

A car rammed into pedestrians in a crowd in China. At least 35 people were killed and 43 others injured. Among the injured are many children and old people.

The incident took place outside a stadium in Zhuhai, China on Tuesday (November 12) evening. This information is known from a report of the media Al-Jazeera.

Authorities said a man drove a car into people outside the stadium. There were many people exercising together. At least 35 people were killed and 43 injured in this incident.

The local police said in a statement that a 62-year-old driver named Fan was arrested while fleeing. He is currently in a coma. He cannot be questioned as he is in a coma.

Most of the videos posted by eyewitnesses have been deleted from Chinese social media following the incident. But some footage is still circulating online. In those videos, many people were seen lying on the ground. Many of whom were killed.

Witness Mr. Chen told Chinese news magazine Caixin that at least six groups had gathered near the stadium as part of their regular exercise when the incident occurred. Suddenly a car came at high speed and hit them.
