He said this in his address to the nation at seven o’clock in the evening on Sunday (November 17) on the occasion of the 100-day completion of the interim government.
Stating that the question of when the elections will be held is on everyone’s mind, the Chief Advisor said, you have noticed that we have started taking necessary steps to organize the elections. The Election Commission will be formed in a few days. From then on, all the responsibility of organizing the elections will fall on them.
He said, our duty to organize the election is over only when an election commission is formed. Reform in the state system is one of the promises of our government. You gave us this mandate. The six reform commissions that we formed in the beginning have already progressed their activities a long way. One of which is Election Reform Commission. The recommendations of this commission are very important for conducting elections. Go to their platform. Express your views openly. You own the country. Tell me what you want. how do you want
He also said, feel free to say all your statements about the election. Express everyone’s thoughts. Also tell me about my request reform. Don’t skip reforms. Talk about elections along with reforms in elections and other areas. Reforms are the long-term life force of a nation. Reforms will give the nation, especially our youth, the opportunity to create a new world. Do not deprive the nation.
The opinion of the political parties and all the people of the country is essential in the recommendations of the reform commission in organizing the elections. That commission is the Constitution Reform Commission. The Electoral Act should be amended on the basis of which part of these recommendations will be acceptable to all. Parallelly the process of updating the voter list will continue, he said.
Dr. Yunus said, I am not sure how much opportunity we will get to implement the reform proposals. But I promise you, we will organize your desired elections after completing some necessary reforms if you give us the opportunity. Till then I request your patience. We would like to create an electoral system that will be followed for ages. As a result, our country will be saved from the political crisis. I am asking you for the necessary time for this. Once the electoral reforms are decided, you will get the election roadmap very soon.
He said the interim government was formed out of a deep desire to bring politics into policy framework, and to create a new environment for politics. Do not deprive the nation of fulfilling this desire.
