In Nandale, Mymensingh, the goalie of the women’s football team who won by a clean sweep, Milli Akhtar, was greeted by the locals with flowers.
Upazila Women’s Football Academy and local residents gave this welcome when they reached their home in Barui village of Chandipasha Union of Nandale Upazila in the district on Wednesday (November 20).
At this time, floral greetings were made by constructing an arch on the road in front of Milli’s house. Earlier, Lily Akhtar was taken to her village home in a well-equipped pickup in a motorcycle procession at Nandail Chowrasta area. There are colorful fireworks on the way. Women footballer Milli’s relatives and friends and people from different classes and professions of the area participated in it. At this time, a joyful atmosphere was created throughout Milli’s village.
Later, Milli Akhter was welcomed to her home by mother Anwara Khatun and father Md. Neighbors including Shamsul Haque. Members and officials of the upazila women’s football team including Milli’s coach Delwar Hossain Ujjal, Mokbul Hossain and Milli’s cousin Rangu Mia were present.
Meanwhile, mother Anwara Khatun expressed her joy at this achievement of her daughter. He told Dhaka Post that the entire village is happy today with the success of my daughter. They all welcomed my daughter with flowers. This is a great find.
Milli’s father expressed gratitude to the local residents. Anwar Hossain said, my daughter has brought glory to the country by playing football. I am very happy to see that the villagers are very happy.
