Currently, the Ministry of Public Administration has directed the concerned ministries, departments and organizations to fill 4 lakh 73 thousand 1 vacancies in government jobs.

On Monday (December 2), the Ministry of Public Administration has sent a letter of instruction regarding this to the concerned officials.

The letter says that according to the statistics of government employees 2023, the number of vacancies approved by the government is 4 lakh 73 thousand 1. Recently, Bangladesh Public Service Commission (BPSC) published a notification for filling 3 thousand 688 vacancies through the 47th BCS recruitment examination.

It is further said that BPSC recruits only Class I Non-Cadre and Class II officers to a limited extent. Other posts sanctioned by the Government are filled from the concerned Ministries/Departments, Subordinate Offices/Organizations/Corporations/Companies.

The current interim government is working tirelessly to meet the expectations of the people and reduce the unemployment of the educated youth through the mass uprising of the students. Despite the large number of vacancies in the country, there is no initiative to take effective steps to fill them.

It is said in the letter, in this situation, measures are requested to fill up the approved vacancies in the ministries/departments, subordinate offices/organizations and field offices as per the rules.

In the letter, it has been requested to send the information along with the word file to the Ministry of Public Administration within 15 working days of receiving the letter.
